Hello, I’m Tatsuhiko Iseki, Director of Yasuda-shiki Taiiku Asobi Kenkyujo.
The Yasuda-Style Educational Method has been systematized today through over 85 years of practical research, spanning from Mr. Yasuda’s time as a gymnast to his years as an elementary school teacher and beyond. Thanks to this extensive research, we have been able to scientifically analyze and structure play and physical education into a comprehensive method. Now, through both video and hands-on practice, we can effectively communicate these principles in a way that is clear, practical, and accessible to everyone.
As an educational approach that awakens the instincts truly needed in modern society, the Yasuda Method continues to expand its reach. Children engage in passionate, immersive play from early childhood, which then connects to school education and sports coaching. Because it’s fun, they engage deeply and grow naturally. This engagement, in turn, enhances neural development, allowing children to gain control over their bodies with ease. Our work is dedicated to exploring the limitless potential of human growth.
The legacy of Mr. Yuji Yasuda, who pioneered and implemented the integration of early childhood, elementary, and physical education, continues to thrive. Today, his approach has expanded to include middle school students, with over 300 children—from preschoolers to 14-year-olds—participating in joint physical education programs across various regions.
Teachers and educators from across Japan transcend institutional boundaries, gathering at workshops to foster emotional connections among children, immerse themselves in year-round, joyful physical education, and maximize its educational impact.
For everyone involved in childcare, education, and sports coaching, we offer hands-on experiences in the joy of teaching, the art of guiding children into deep engagement, and methods to enhance empathy and safety awareness. We aim to awaken the instincts of as many children as possible, enabling them to gain mastery over their bodies and expand their life’s possibilities.
We will continue our practical research with the motto: “More Fun, More Effective.”
I sincerely hope you will join us in becoming educators who immerse children in the excitement of play and open doors to their limitless potential.
